Haemophilia A

Haemophilia A is a genetic deficiency caused by a lack of blood clotting factor VIII. Without enough factor VIII, the blood cannot clot properly to control bleeding. In the majority of cases, it is inherited as an X-linked recessive trait and usually affects men.
