Ovarian Neoplasms

Ovarian neoplasms are tumors that arise in one or both ovaries, in the fallopian tubes, or in the peritoneum (the tissue that covers the organs in the abdomen). They can be benign or malignant (ovarian cancer). They are made up mainly of solid tissue, unlike ovarian cysts, which contain fluid. Ovarian cancer often goes undetected until it has spread to the pelvis and abdomen.
