Severe osteoporosis

Severe osteoporosis causes bones to become weak and brittle — so brittle that a fall or even mild stresses such as bending over or coughing can cause a fracture. It occurs because the rate of bone replacement is lower than the bone that is lost. Osteoporosis-related fractures most commonly occur in the hip, wrist or spine. This condition is more prone to happen to women after they reach menopause.
