Stomach neoplasms are an abnormal and excessive growth of tissue in the stomach. The process that gorms a neoplasm is called neoplasia. The growth of a neoplasm is not coordinated with the growth of the normal surrounding tissue and persists in growing abnormally, even if the original trigger is removed. These neoplasms can be benign (not cancerous forms of tissues), pre-malignant (have the potential to become malignant) or malignant (when the neoplasms become cancerous).
